Thanks for all your messages – we may not be getting many –
we are in a battle with Telstra as we speak…… and the Italians are very casual about their internet speed.
We made it to Italy, what a long day/s. So much time to get here, I’m sure it will be
worth it. We had a stop at Singapore for
an hour then 3 hours at Dubai, it was 37 degrees and the sand in the air was
amazing. On to Milan, got here an hour
late (at about 9pm) picked up the hire car and the fun started!!
The steering wheel is on the wrong side, I tried to take it
back but they wouldn’t listen/understand.
So we plugged in the sat nav, unknown to us there had been some recent
road works at the airport – we spent 20 minutes driving between 2
roundabouts. We found our way out and
everyone was driving on the wrong side of the road – bloody foreigners!! We had a little trouble adjusting, Pams finger marks will be
forever imprinted on the dash board.
The motel was only about 9kms from the airport – we got
there at about 10.45pm, thank goodness, reception closed at 11pm, we would have
spent the night in the car if we were 15 minutes later.
Slept well and went for breakfast at 9.30am. A nice change, after eating about 14 meals
in a plane to finally sit down to eat at leisure.
All ready now to venture into Milan.
Just had a message from Telstra - phones should be fixed within 24hrs
