Day at the beach in Pesaro

I could describe today’s activities very simply – went to the beach.  But I will have to bore you with more details than that!!!!

Was going to watch the sunrise over the Adriatic Sea – slept in, didn’t make it.

Went for a walk into the town centre, wandered around till lunch time, went and had a swim.  The sea is as flat as a pancake and is fairly shallow.  You can sit anywhere on the beach, however, if you want an umbrella and/or banana lounge you have to pay – the beach is covered in these facilities.  We went the cheap option and sat on the sand slumming it.  It was very refreshing and took us through to lunch.

Lunch – roast pork on a pannini. The pork is rolled roast – the difference here is they debone the whole pig and roll the lot, from the head to the tail and line it with herbs and spice and slow cook it over a spit.  Makes for a rolled roast about 5 foot long and 18 inches across, tastes delicious.
Went down to the beach front and watched the crowds for a couple of hours till it was time for an afternoon drink.  Served with all sorts of food again.  Chilli olives was a highlight – lights a sizeable fire in your mouth.  Lucky 3 local beers (Menabrea) put out the fire.  Just to be on the safe side and to limit the scarring – a couple of local reds (Nerium) completed the recovery process!!!

I have been asked a couple of times how I get time to do the blog – in a word – red wine.  (I know that’s two words but it’s only one drink and it's bad manners to count)  The blog writing is the unwinding for the day, one red wine and the words flow.  Pam checks the spelling the next day.  She says I write lots of s#%t but I don’t use that sort of language!!!
