Left our Bologna hotel, driving to Verona. Our hostess told us they had 40 degree heat in July, in February they had 2 foot of snow across the whole area and in May they had an earthquake (there were over 20 people killed just north of Bologna in Modena). They are hoping for a less exciting year next year!!

How the hell do you have a shower in there??? Skill, and a desire to get clean!!! |
Arrived at Verona in time to have a walk around before lunch. Checked out the Roman Arena, didn’t go in, we
were sort of thinking there may be a bigger one in Rome that may need a visit,
all very impressive though.
When in Verona everyone has to visit the balcony Juliette
used when Romeo was trying his thing on her.
Of course it is all fiction; the number of tourists about, you would
think Juliette had been the Popes girlfriend!!!! But like many things touristy….you go to see
them because they are there. It was a
nice city and had a very commercial centre, again with a thousand
clothes/leather/shoe shops. Lucky Pam is
sick of looking at that sort of stuff and we bypassed the lot…..you think??

Pam decided to wear her yellow jacket so she wouldn't get lost in the crowd. Bet you can't find her!!! |

Oh Romeo, Romeo, yadda yadda yadda |
 |
There it is again. |
Had a light lunch and headed to our hotel in Venice. They were very helpful when we arrived and
guided us towards the nearest train station to avoid the horrendous parking
fees on Venice itself. Good to get into
Venice and sort out our transport tickets and have a quick look at what we could see and where
we could go over the next 2 days.
Had tea and got back on the boat to take us around the Grand
canal to the train station. The train
was 30 minutes late leaving and we arrived home exhausted at about 9.30. Not too many photos today. I’ll pile lots up for you tomorrow……promise!!!! I know you can't wait.

On the train to Venice - the luxury model, the train was pretty fancy too. |
 |
You told me the boat would be here.....NOW!!!! |
